when will we have a mayor who will work to protect neighborhoods' character? am i being an idealist, or is there some way zoning laws might trump the free market? new york is losing its character to the uber-rich and chain stores. sad to see these excellent places close down, on the heels of Big Cup (not the finest venue for a cup of coffee but posing some serious competition for starbuck's in the character department) so where the hell am i going to get my quickie burritos now!? burritoville gives me indigestion without fail, and, last I ate there (which will be the last time ever), food poisoning. see ya BFS, and Kitchen. RIP. Wish someone coulda waved the rent wand over your corner.
