Yanks Aren't Only Ones With a Damaged Staff

You missed Jon Lester of the Red Sox. He was put on the disabled list last August with a sore back. Later diagnosis and testing showed he had anaplastic large cell lymphoma. He was treated for it; testing later showed he was free of it. He has been pitching in the minors, rehabilitating, and is scheduled to return to the Red Sox in perhaps a week from now. Most likely, the promising, young lefty--he's 23 years ol--will replace Julian Tavares as fifth starter. Tavares likely will go into long relief. One wonders who will go down to Pawtucket as Lester returns.
