Saving Baseball With Blue Ribbon Panels

This column is a welcome antidote to the mindless attacks on Barry Bonds by the no-nothings in the media. You might have mentioned that Babe Ruth & most players in the 20s blatantly used illegal drugs - they drank alcohol during prohibition. Mention should also be made of the fact that the majority of players caught using steroids now that testing has begun have been pitchers, which would indicate that Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, etc. were able to break home run records even though they faced pitchers who had an "unfair advantage".
