A Jack Kerouac Controversy Hits the Road

Having been suckered by the whole Kerouac, Ginsberg, Borroughs PR phenomenon I feel like too much
has been said already. The whole mystique is something of a fraud and I'm saying that as someone who
spent too many hours in the St. Marks Bookshop thinking that PR has any relationship to what actually
happens in real life. These guys were not the finest, best, most talented minds of that generation. I'm still
basically in sympathy with what they were doing but too much has been made of it even in todays
atmosphere of organized ignorance.
