Lakers May Throw Wrench in Knicks Off-Season Plans

After all, if I believed everything you wrote, ol' Jackie Butler would have had an all-star year this season in San Antonio. Lets see, lets count some beans, shall we John? That IS your forte' isn't it?

Jackie Butler last seaon on the Knicks, 2006: 5.3p 3.3r .6b in 13.5min/game

Jackie Butler this season on the Spurs, 2007: 3.7p 2.0r .0b in 9.4min/game

Hey, how far off were you on that one? Remember when you were calling him a young Shawn Kemp, Chris Webber and God knows who else? Phew! You blew that one didn't you? Only time you see Jackie on TV is when they cut to a shot of ol' Popovich on the bench--and Butler's sitting in the corner, not even suited to play!

I guess you and the rest of the media would so hate to see Kobe on the Knicks, or KG on the Knicks or anyone else (real reporters are talking about Rashard Lewis coming over as I write this) because, it flat out makes you "look stupid" (I believe those were your words last year in response to letting Jackie Butler walk on to the Spurs). You somehow think Isiah inherited a more talented team from the Layden era when in fact the team was less athletic, more old and even more injury-prone.

And I can't stand it when you reporters write "Baby Bulls" as if to say they're some kind of young team. If they're young at 25.9 average age, then the Knicks should be held in the same light as they are 26.2 on average (refer to your former employer espn.com for those numbers).

And tell your buddies the Curry trade can't be evaluated until the end of the 2007-2008 season, when the upcoming swapped draft picks have the chance to prove their worth in the NBA. I know you'll disagree because of your blind hatred for the current Knicks organization, but I'm really betting Isiah does something better at 23 than Paxon could ever do with the 9th pick.

And yet that Curry trade that everyone-including you-blasted, is really starting to look pretty good going into next season:

Chicago gets this year's 9th pick, Ty Thomas, Tim Thomas and Mike Sweetney

New York gets Eddy Curry, Antonio Davis (who was eventually traded for the pick that became Renaldo Balkman)

Incidentally, by letting Butler walk as a free agent, and freeing up a roster spot throughout the 06-07 NBA season, Isiah was clever enough to sign 6'11", 260lb (do the dimensions sound familiar to you?) rookie center Randolph Morris from Kentucky without having to use up the Bulls' first round pick at 23. I guess that Isiah really is an idiot like you said, right John?

I doubt you'll post this. Read it and weep:
