Spitzer's Choice of Dyson Draws Ire of African Americans

Submitted by JAC, Jackson Heights NY, Jun 1, 2007 10:53

I agree with Councilman Barron's comment that the governor "should not have someone on the committee that has made a racist statement . I have problems with that." The only problem is there is scant evidence that Mr. Dyson made a racist comment, and he has a pretty long and pretty clean record of public service. Mr. Barron should have more problems with people who have openly professed to be "anti-white" and have ample evidence that they were a bona fide racist. Instead, he wants to name streets after this one. The councilman doesn't seem concerned about the non-african-american people of the City of New York, who might find their sense of sensitivity adversly affected if they were walking down Sonny Carson Way.
