Libby Lawyers Request He Be Spared Prison Term

Libby's trial exposed the merit in his "work behind the scenes." His primary loyalty was to his party and his own hide, and not to the integrity of our justice system (or the American people who depend on his honesty because of the office he held).

Here's my question: Even if he was a good employee, is that grounds for a lessening of his sentence? After all, he was getting paid to do his job. Any kind of leniency awarded on on those grounds is redundant--he's been cashing his checks all along. Can a farmer get a reduction of his sentence for twenty years of crops well raised? No, and his job is arguably more important.
