When will Americans realize that tax rate cuts are not tax cuts but INCREASE tax revenues. We have now seen this from the Kennedy, Reagan and Bush43 tax rate cuts. The problem with Reagan and Bush 43 has been their inability to control wasteful federal spending.

Tax rate hikes eventually reduce our growth and dynamism as an economy, making us more like the Europeans, most of whose large economies are stagnating.

Anyone who thinks that the Clintons had any clue to eliminating federal deficits should look at his first budget in 1993 which broke his campaign promise for a middle-income tax cut and included massive retroactive tax increases yet showed $200 billion plus deficits throughout the projection period. The subsequent budget surpluses had more to do with the technological revolution that took place during the 90's, which Clinton had nothing to do with, and the Republican takeover in the House and Senate in 1994 and the Contract with America. Clinton's only budget cuts came at the expense of Defense spending and made us more vulnerable to attacks against us.
