Absolutely right, as always. Carl Pavano's name has been added to the lexicon, as in "Let's just hope he doesn't turn out to be another Carl Pavano."

Anyway, the piece would've really ended with a bang, only I'm, sure you meant "for pitchers to retire," not "hitters."
