Iran Increases Gas Prices by 25%, Indicating Economic Crisis

The $1.00 / liter price sounds close to world retail levels, but whether $0.10 or $1.00, it would be nice to have an internal standard of comparison. How much for a loaf of bread, or basic TV set? What's the legal or de facto minimum wage?

I can just imagine the scenes at the gas pumps -- it'll be chaos.

Iranians will be looking west to Iraq with envy if this keeps up!
