Mr. Tyrrell's editorial actually makes a good case for pulling out of Iraq. As he points out, Al-Queda cannot win because all they can do is blow themselves up. How would they run a government this way? Citizens: pay your taxes or we'll send a suicide bomber to blow up your markets? Let the 8 sided Civil War play out on its own, but reduce it to seven sides, without the U.S. After all, 30 years after the fall of Saigon, we are doing business with Vietnam like it was China. In the long view, both countries came out ahead - eventually.
