Sharpton Criticized For Romney Quip

Submitted by Adrian Liston, May 9, 2007 17:41

I think if they were honest, any religious leader in America if pressed would say that they worship the only true God. Mormans and Christians do have different religions and both think the other is incorrect. I think Sharpton is wrong if he is saying that someone should not be elected President on religious grounds, I think he is right if he is saying that it is extraordinarily unlikely for a non-Christian to get elected to President because of religious bigotry (at least now, luckily the same didn't stop Jefferson or Lincoln). As for Romney, his call for religious tolerance would sound a little more honest if he wasn't trying to force religious law onto everyone.
