The letter containing the secret gospel of Mark is highly sophisticated literary hoax. The difference between a hoax and a forgery is that a hoax is designed to be eventually exposed or revealed, as is the case with the secret Mark letter (SML). It contains within itself the clues to unravel it, the solution being ,crucially, dependant on the scripture quoted. Obviously it's complicated, but it is also, i think ,quite cool.
