The basic comparison is not learning and explaining why Avogadro's Number or e=2.718 are numbers that actually have a meaning, as opposed to 1234567 which does not and like many other meaningless lucky or favorite numbers will appear any time you count up. It is the difference between assigning false meaning to numbers and portraying how math highlights underlying patterns that we also see in the physical world. True numbers nerds are more concerned with math than lucky numbers.
