When I first moved to NY in the nineties I noticed a lot of shimmery sidewalks on my walks around the City. They seem to have disappeared lately. Does anyone know if the schist mentioned in the article is a common ingredient in sidewalk cement? Perhaps some of the big water tunnel digs provided the powdered form?
