The United States can make many mistakes, even lose a long lasting war half way around the world in Vietnam., or, for that matter, in Iraq.

But Israel doesn't have that luxury, it must win every major war.

The Evangelical minister from Texas, once said that Israel is tired and is being weakened by it's enemies.

Many years ago, Moshe Dayan was recalled to serve his country, which had faith in his military leadership.

If Olmert really doesn't have the respect of his people, than at some time, Israel should have elections. In the meantime, he is the Prime Minister, and must be recognized for having brought Israel through one of it's darkest, if not decisive moments. If for example, his defense minister is really inadequate for that position, get someone else, There are plenty of military men in Israel with battle experience.

You know, in our own country, people like John McCain have criticized Donald Rumsfeld, even though he had significant experience in government and industry. Now, we have Gates, more reserved, equally serious, but far less controversial. This also was a sea change at the very top.

Israel has to get back to itself, and quickly. It cannot afford the luxury of these massive, but really meaningless demonstrations. It has to appreciate that it's problems are complex and therefore difficult to resolve, with musical chairs being played by it's leaders.
