The problem for Israel is not whether to accept, or not accept the Saudi Plan, the Geneva Plan, the Mitchell Plan, Resolution 242 (which the Arabs have never accepted calling on secure and peaceful borders for both sides), the plan expoused at Camp David which gave the Palestinian a state of their own back to the pre-67 cease fire lines (allowing for a few major Israeli enclaves to remain), it's the total rejection of any two state solution (as President Bush proposes repeatedly) which does not allow for the so-called "right of return" wherein millions of Arabs can move to Israel.

The Arab side has never given one inch on this one, fully aware that it would mean Israel's death sentence. (It compares to having allowed tens of millions of No. Vietnamese and Chinese to move to the United States during the Vietnamese War.)

Israel has offered the Palestinians statehood in the Gaza Strip, West Bank and East Jerusalem, or autonomy or a federation on numerous occasions, only to hear, no peace, no compromise, no negotiation with the Jewish state, in one form or another.

Even now, after 15 years of low level fighting with the Palestinians, the government of the Palestinian people under Hamas (a terrorist group), will not accept Israel's existence, refuse to obey prior agreements, and encourages and supports violence until Israel gives in to their impossible and suicidal demands.

The author is right in his analysis of this 100 year old conflict.

But he should have gone further and said bluntly that no solution exists as long as the Arab continue to tell the world that the Jews stole their land, and remain their illegally.

In fact, it's the Arabs that stole Jewish lands. There is already a Palestinian state, it's called Jordan, which should have been given to the Jews as a homeland, to be perfectly honest.
