The "original distributor" of the Forward at his newsstand in 1899 was my mother's father, Louis Weinstock. The caption on the back of the photo had his name.

Along with Harry Weinberg (see the Weinberg News company apron under glass) they founded Metropolitan News company, the major wholesale distributor in New York City and the Bronx.
