Smart to travel and even show the semblence of running. As the Mayor said months ago, if it is smart for New York, then this is an important aspect of his job as Mayor.

As for those of us who would welcome his run as an independent, it is not strictly him or his policies. It is the prospect of gaining ground for all independents running; to encourage more independents to run; and to finally ease the Big Two party arrogance and disdain for anyone outside of their so-called mainstream.
