Aluminum Bats May Go Way of Trans Fat

While it's a great idea to say that all HS mst use wood bats and replace all aluminum bats. My ony question is a simle one. Who is going to pay for the bats? If there is a law set in place to ban aluminum bats, is there any financial attachment to that law allowing all the wood bats that these schools, who are mostly public and so are paid from taxpayer $, will now have to buy? Are they going to now have to fire teachers over the requirement that the school must use wood bats? Will some schools just drop baseball altogether, because t's less expensive than fielding a baseball team that needs wood bats? Wood bats are going to cost, for a spring season of about 7 weeks, approximately $10,000 per player [usually HS teams carry 20 players]. does this mean that there will be even less players kept on a team, to reduce te wood bat costs? If there is a plan for the economic woes associated with wood bats, I'd be for it. As a taxpayer in my town, if I've got to pay additional school taxes for this, they can keep the aluminum bats and keep my costs down...
