Re: Spitzer Outlines Aggressive Energy Plan

Governor Spitzer's announcement to reduce the New York State's energy demand 15% by 2015 was a breath of fresh air for New Yorkers. The Governor's commitment to address the State's energy needs by first using energy more wisely will decrease pollution and keep money in our wallets from lower utility bills.

It has taken far too long for state officials to put forth a strategy that will reduce our energy use, by using it wiser. The pressing problems of global warming and public health caused by our addiction to fossil fuels makes energy demand reduction more of a necessity now than ever before.

I stand ready to support the Governor in his efforts to dramatically increase energy efficiency and to make New York not just a powerhouse, but a sustainable powerhouse.
