Jill Schwarz commented that she thought there was another place teachers could go who wanted a professional organization without the politics and bullying of the NEA. That place is the Association of American Educators (AAE) www.aaeteachers.org (800-704-7799) which has provided professional protection (liability insurance, legal services) and support for teachers (scholarships, grants, a voice on issues, practical classroom resources, conferences) for thousands of educators for over a decade.

The teachers union has been woefully incapable of raising teachers salaries and helping teachers get the respect, recognition, and reward they deserve. They even admit it. The American Federation of Teachers' recent report on teacher salaries asserts that, to make teacher pay competitive with pay in other professions by the end of the decade, teachers need a 30 percent raise." http://www.aft.org/presscenter/releases/2007/032907.htm

Teachers can get an immediate pay raise of hundreds of dollars by resigning from the unions and joining AAE where they will get better protection, better services, and better benefits for only $150 compared to the bloated $600-$1,000 dues of the teacher union political machine.
