Pedal Power

I own a large fleet of 40 pedicabs in NYC and I thank the mayor for his diplomacy. My only hope now is that city council members can think for themselves and not have the speaker do thier thinking for them. Intro 331-A will destroy my small environmentaly-sound buisness. It will limit any one business or indivual to 30 pedicab licenses, while requiring twice as much insurance that my company, Mr. Rickshaw L.L.C., carries now. NYC needs pedicabs if Mayor Bloombergs' PlaNYC 2030 is really set as our future goal for environmental sustainabilty. I first began riding pedicabs myself in 2001 after serving 4 years in the United States Air Force. I loved giving pedicab rides all over the city to all kinds of people from all walks of life. For the last three years I have leased safely maintained, insured pedicabs to qualified drivers who pass our saftey course. I hope that the pedicab experience can continue, or my days as a NYC small green buisness owner are over.

Sincerly,

Rob Tipton
