A Star Suffers an Off Night

Whatever the problem was with Ms Chang ,let us hope she does better next time , Don't schedule
the "kreutzer" sonata -it really is not that good a duo sonata -the violin part being inept at best. But
for those sad people who when you mention "Beethoven" fall to their knees in worship, the "Kreutzer"
is considered "arguably the greatest "violin" sonata written ..it is not .. it is an unbalanced work and is
saved only by the piano part ,while the fiddle noodles away trying to make this a joint venture ..and a
conditioned audience sits dutifully listening to the great "Beethoven" Kreutzer sonata . The work is
of minor interest for what it wants to say ,not for what it does say ..there are better "violin -piano" sonatas waiting
Ms. Changs attention ..even the "Spring" for the millionth time is better . Maybe her heart wasn't in this
Beethoven making his "deep" statement mode ., who could blame her .
