Exchanging Prisoners

It has been shown that some released prisoners returned to Israel to commit additional crimes. That said, Israel is asking for more terrorist acts by this nonsensical deal with Hamas. Israel 's policy should be that when one of it's citizens (or soldiers) is kidhapped, the person (s) will be considered as dead. It's just that simple. Such a policy will take the leverage away from the kidhappers, and allow Israeli reprisals commensurate with the criminal act. Israel should let it be known that when someone is kidnapped, they will spare no effort to force the release of the individual (s) before that person is considered dead.

In effect, kidnapping will be considered tantamount to murder.

If thousands of Arabs are released persuant to some kind of deal for Shalit, every Israeli will be in grave danger.

The terrorists have it both ways. If killed in the act of terror, they will go to heaven with 72 virgins. If they succeed without being killed, and flee successfully, they also accomplish their purpose. If they are convicted of a crime in Israel, and are freed per a "deal", they also come out ahead.

Israel is being played for a fool by the Palestinians. Allowing Marwin Barghouti the hope of someday being freed is playing into the hands of the terrorists and their supporters. Giving him the freedom that he has had since his incarceration, is also counterproductive for Israel's security (and image).
