Emergency Staircase/Elevator - Reader comments at The New York Sun

This is great idea.

That elevator should be high-speed elevator like one at NYC FIrehouse Museum.

Maybe, stairs should be high-speed escalator like BART escalator I heard about.

They should also have stairs that connect from fire escape or rooftop near Queensboro Bridge for emergency situation.
