Couric in the Eye of Plagiarism Case

Plagiarism on Katie Couric's web blog? Is this much ado about nothing or have I missed something here. Plagiarism by 'Dr.' Martin Luther King in his doctorial thesis is one thing, but plagiarism in the whirligig world of the internet is downright silly. Yes, CBS should have used the information as a quote or at least acknowledged the source, but what the author of that source was really writing about was a generally observable phenomenon, namely that libraries are used for research by people who don't have computers, or more accurately that books are now more infrequently used as sources of informaiton for this material. If you've been to your local public library you will notice tables full of bolted down public access computers where people 'google' everything from cold remedies to DIY instructions on cleaning drains. I say give Katie a pass on this one. Fire someone over this??? Never. Silly and a measure of a hot tempered boss somewhere.
