I grew up in NYC. Once was proud to call myself a New Yawka. Not any longer. I have watched the greed of particular interest groups exploit and destroy a city that I once called home, that I once loved. Now you destroy churches to create dormitories and apartments. Why not create satelite campuses? Many successful universities and colleges do. Is NYU too narrow-minded to consider that such a move may be advantagious? Of course that would require re-organization & innovative thought. Those are no longer qualities of the "Big Apple" or the "City That Never Sleeps". Now it is, "How many people can we cram into the space that we have & still make a profit?"

Your article states facts without explanations. My guess is that certain groups cleared a nice profit but that the community is not supporting the change. My father, who had been a student of your university a long time ago, would not allow me to consider NYU as a college choice. Now I understand why. I am certain that this will be edited or rejected...
