Mr. Nordlinger fails to realize that there millions of multi-racial people who have never had the opportunity to address their pride in their ethnicity. As a woman of Asian/Black background, with a husband of White/Black background, we found it a profound source of pride and opportunity to be able to raise our children with an awareness that we were never able to embrace - that of being "Multi-/racial". I am sorry he does not realize that this is an important issue for our daughter, because I don't think a day goes by when we aren't asked "what are you??" - and various questions to that effect. We didn't make the world aware of our ethnicity, the world made us aware of it. Her Dad and I just responded by telling her she didn't have to '"CHOOSE ONE ONLY" - for which only a mixed person would feel the sting of. So, we responded to a mixed country, who doesn't sometimes know it's mixed, by being honest. I found your dismissal of our heritage hasty, uninformed, and dismissive. Her music comes from this rich heritage as well. Terri Cabell
