Pelosi's Inspiration
in response to reader comment: WSJ opinion piece says Pelosi may have violated the Logan Act

Submitted by Dorothy Wachsstock, Apr 7, 2007 10:57

We Americans are getting tired of the bias of people in government getting away with the law that we would be in jail for doing. Cynthia McKinney punching a policeman in the face and no admonitionment or remorse ..just walked away in time to speak at anti-War demonstrations. Pres. Bush (voted for him twice) allowing HIS Justice Dept. to allow Sandy Berger to walk free as a bird after stealing classified documents and now no lie detector test that was part of their agreement. Scooter Libby going to jail for lapse of memory...well, so did Tim Russert have a lapse of memory each time he was questioned. It seems to us ordinary folks that Libby had a better alibi, being in a higher position of authority to deal with more problems in the White House than a reader of news whose main job was creating questions for "Gotcha" to the republicans while going soft on democrats.

It is time to give us back faith in our government. Speaker Pelosi asked Americans to vote for the democrats and they were promised more ethical (what was that trip against the Logan Law, ethical or arrogant?) and reformed government. They now have shown their true agenda. They are putting our troops in jeopardy by passing a bill that that manages the war instead of allowing the generals to fight to win. Speaker Pelosi gave the terrorist nations a photo op and also gave Syria hope that they can push Israel into the sea as they support Hamas and Hezbollah who have stated their intentions. Nothing was demanded of Syria by Speaker Pelosi. She has broken the law in opposition to the fact that though she may be Speaker of the House, she is not the Pres. or the Secretary of State or even a diplomat sent by the President who had asked her not to go and instigate her own policy of interference with his and the State Dept.

I, too, am not a lawyer, but agree with Bill Levinson that Speaker Pelosi only helped the terrorists and made us ashamed of the first woman speaker instead of being proud, plus breaking the law. She should not be allowed to get away with it. Perhaps the best thing is for her to step down and allow Steny Hoyer to be the Speaker and hide her in the back somewhere. She has shamed the entire United States by her actions.
