If Mr. Simon has 'Catholic credentials' that are worth anything, he will need to enroll Rudy Giuliani full-time with extra-credit work in an intensive course on sanctity of life issues.

I'm unclear as to whether Giuliani claims any allegiance to the Catholic Church, but apparently Simon does. Hopefully he is not just another Nancy Pelosi-type Catholic. The right to life issue is central to the Catholic Church's teaching. It is a non-negotiable issue. Giuliani can't expect a half-way postion on the abortion issue to win votes and neither should Simon.
