Clinton and the Boardrooms

The thrust of the New York Sun editorial is that Hillary is biting the hand that feeds her. Corporates are no saints who donate money to politicians merely out of "ideological" affinity. They do so with a clear long term view of being able to call their debts when the politician they funded wins. They know too that politicians have to pull in diverse constituents like organized labor, environment groups, consumer advocates and the like. Corporate chiefs do not face voters, politicians have to! While Hillary has not shown the kind of incestuous relationship with big business that Bush and the Republicans brazenly display, it is prudent for her to clearly state policy positions in areas like health care, global warming, energy independence and military contracts so that Corporate are under no illusions on what to expect as "return" for their investment in her campaign!!
