Mr. Halkin explodes another narcissist's dream. Are (some) academics ever going to get into the real world? Does their isolated in their own community life and among themselves drive them to distortion? Or, do they have vivid imaginations and just make this stuff up? Maybe their pre-judgment and/or childhood traumas drive them to unbalanced conclusions. Maybe Mr. Pape is writing in the 'voice' of his inner-self, expressing in his 'take' some sort of deep inner disappointment, some anger and rage. Only his 'shrink' would know.

Mr. Pape and his fellow 'true believers' probably 'believe' what he and they write. Too bad it is not the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth - and too bad they have a platform to spread their propaganda.
