Obama Rebuffs Soros

I am 100% committed to the existence and protection of Israel, but no nation should get the "Golden Child" status they seem to have in US policy. No matter what they do, it is excused and justified. With any other nation, they would bring down ringing denunciations upon themselves. To oppose the worst shortsighted shortcomings of what israel does does not mean one is "Anti-Semitic." Anti-Zionist, perhaps, but like one watching in pain as a dear friend does self-destructive things, many of us worry and wonder at the course Israel has too often chosen for itself. It saddens me to watch the news and think to myself how eerily similar Israel's brutal actions toward the Palestnians are to they way the Romans treated the Jews. Truly sad, and it leaves me baffled as to why Isarael, or at least segments in the military and government, seem to think laws of morality toward other human beings don't apply to them. It is simple human nature, when being ground under the boot, to fight back. Ask the shades of those Jews who resisted in Europe 60 years ago. Do they think the Palestinians are so sub-human they should not be resisting? Or does Israel keep grinding till they are no longer able to fight back? Since the Palestinians are human beings, that day will never come. As the US with our bogus war in Iraq, the damage the Israeli attitude toward the Palestinians does to itself is incalculable and will take decades to repair.
