Reader comment on:
Opera Ventures Outside the Met

Submitted by Bruce Nelson, Mar 21, 2007 12:12

Dear Mr. Kuznitz

The Met will doubtless get the high-powered and beautifully sung performances they expect with David Daniels doing both Cesare and Orfeo this spring.

But but what the f--- will it take to one day hear that the Met has decided finally to electrify the big house by inviting Ewa Podles for one of these or other roles?

Or do you think anyone over there has even heard her?

That one of the greatest singers in the world has sung nothing there since the early 90s is the shame of the Metropolitan Opera.
