Looking back, it is unbelievable that Lipscomb has failed to correct the record on this sorry excuse for an article.

First of all, Kerry was routinely transferred from the Inactive Ready Reserve to the Standby Reserve Inactive effective July 1972, just months before he applied to law school. Does Lipscomb actually believe that in those few months the Navy disciplined a congressional candidate and did so in such a way that it would be available to a law school admissions board? I guess that would have to assume Lipscomb even bothered to look at the reserve transfer record in the first place, which would be a HUGE leap.

Second, that "three year review" provision did not get added to the BUPERS 3830300 until 1978, meaning the review COULDN"T have taken place before then. Or didn't the JAG fella bother to research the regulation? No wonder he's a solo practitioner.

Well, on the bright side, Lipscomb has stopped claiming to be a "Pulitzer nominee." That's sayin' somthing.
