Washington Heights

Go to http://www.nypl.org/research/chss/spe/art/print/exhibits/revolution/index.html The exhibit reviewed by Francis Morrone is online, and hopefully it will remain on view indefinitely. Suggestion to Francis: the NYPL has digitized about a half million images that are viewable online. How many more are to come? How well has the NYPL managed the task of presenting this mass of material? How many dollars are devoted to this effort? Nobody but specialists talk about the digitizing of pictures. Yet it's of immense importance for illustrators and designers such as myself, who depend on old prints for our inspiration.
