Maddening NCAA Decisions

I did a google search for Washington State and came across this pathetic article. I enjoy the fact that you've used Sagarin's predictor ratings for evaluating teams. You may want to stick to covering high school games if you aren't going to take the time to learn about teams that you are writing about. His predictor evaluates team's without considering the quality of the competiton. WSU is ranked in the 20's and 30's by most modeling systems if you cared to look. Teamrankings.com has us #14. Not bad for a team that wouldn't win a game in the NIT. It is interesting that you ignore Sagarin's #49 composite ranking for your boys while you are whining.

Washington State had one bad loss this year to Utah. Other than that, they had two overtime losses, a 3 point loss to UCLA, an 8 point loss to UCLA, a 5 point loss to Oregon and a 9 point loss to USC in the Pac-10 tourney. One loss came on a controversial call with 0.2 seconds to go. Two of them came on nights when players went unconscious and hit 80% from the three point line. In every game but the Utah loss, WSU had the ball with a chance to tie or take the lead with a minute and a half to go. According to Ken Pomeroy, WSU went 11-6 against teams in the top 100. Your beloved Syracuse went 9-11 against Top 100 foes. So, your ignorant comments about the quality of WSU prove that east coast bias is alive and well.

If WSU is bad, Syracuse is obviously worse, and it is an insult to every team that wasn't invited to the NIT that an incompetent, unworthy team like the Orangemen took their spot in the NIT. Best of luck to Syracuse while they are there, and they may want to win those games against Wichita State, Oklahoma State and Drexel before they cry about being left out of the tourney next year.
