Paul,

Your view on the Revolution being boring due to Steve Nicol's tactics was an interesting viewpoint and while I do not agree with it, I should point out one major flaw:

I watched Liverpool in those golden years and they were a stunning team to behold. While most of English football at that time was dragged into the mire of a long-ball game and was often boring, Liverpool stood head and shoulders above them in terms of entertainment. If the premise for your viewpoint is that Nicol learned his tactics playing for a dreary Liverpool team, your argument has absolutely no foundation.

I believe videos are available of those Dalglish, Souness, Rush, Whelan, Johnston, Nicol teams. You need to watch some!
