As a high school basketball coach for 30 years, whose major influence was playing frosh hoops at Carolina and then being a statistician for Dean for 3 years, I am thrilled to see an article that actually has some cohesive thought to it. No doubt you are correct.

But, to take this further, please tell me, or even better write it, how stupid the Knicks decision to get rid of Larry Brown (even if he did not do his best work last year) and keeping Isiah was. Who put together this mish- mash of talent? How would the Knicks present and future be (followoing the line of thinking in your article) if the Knicks had gotten rid of Marbury (even if costly and for little return) and Isiah and drafted Marcus Williams (I and Larry would also have gotten rid of Nate). A Larry Brown team (with management behind him) of

guards: Marcus Williams, Crawford, Francis (only because we are stuck with him) and Richardson

Jared Jeffries and a hard working shooter type at 3 (with Richardson sliding there for small ball) and big man rottation of Lee, Curry, Frye plus whomever-would be a tough team to beat this year and would be a free agen signing or great draft pick away from being downright good.

Now the future is bleak!
