Somalia Asks America For $1 Billion in Aid

Submitted by Abdi Awaleh Jama, Mar 7, 2007 13:24

I believe that the Bush Administration should be praised beyond the least shadow of doubt, for the superb actions it took in Somalia ( a country which suffered for the past 16years under the hegemonic control of Warlords buttressed by hegemonic clan-subclans designs) against the forces of darkness and retrogresson symbolized by the cartel of international terrorism hiding under the guise of the so -called moderate wing of the defunct Union of Islamic Courts (UIC). Therefore, on behalf of the Somali masses and people and especially
the vulnerable groups in the society such as, children women and the elderly, ( who need a government to protect them)I wish to express my profound
thanks to the American people, members of the US Congress, President Bush and his administration for rescuing the Somali people from clan-sub clan hegemonic agenda forr uling Somalia ad infinitum. These clannish elements had sold Somalia to the cartel of international terrorism to maintain their ill-gotten gains in the past 16 years. In fact , these are forces of darkness who are oblivious to the national interests of the Somali people in the establishment of peace, law and order essential for the establishment of democtratic goverance. The transitional Federal Institutions in Mogadishu espouses the true aspirations of the "silent majority" support the TFG and see it as the embodiement of their aspirations and yearings for peace, national reconciliation of the people of Somalia as a whole. In conclusion, as a Somali-American I have nothing but a high praise and gratitude for the Ameican people who gave refuge to more than 300,ooo plus, Somali refugees whose majority of them are productive citizens of the UnitedStates of America. Also, for the record, I wish to express my personal thanks and deep gratitude from the bottom of my heart to President Bush, the American people, the US Congress, The responsible media and some responsible elements in the foereign policy and academic communities for their support in the liberation of the Somali people from the jaws of the cartel of international terrorism allied with warlods, under the guise of clan hegemony. We want to be the strongest bridge linking Somalia and the U.S.A.,and as well for ever-lasting friendship, mutual cooperation between our two countries and people. This is in essence, the convergence of the US-Somali national security interests for building better and more humane global society based on ever-lasting peace and democracy.
