Baudrillard is not really dead . His "death " is a simulacrum or a hyper death.

And who the hell is Andrei Codrescu ? Why to compare this unknown whatever to the magnificent Baudrillard?And why to compare an entertainment toy like The Matrix to an intellectually challenging work like Baudrillard's? Absurd! Hyperreal!
