One by One, City Health Clinics Are Joining the Digital Age

I am surprised over the exaggerated concern for privacy and security matters in electronic health records. It leaves me to wonder if that is being used as an excuse not to adopt. Paper based record keeping is more vulnerable to unauthorized intrusion than electronic which is more controlled by role based access. If you ever worked in a medical records department, you would know that once you enter the department you could pull any chart you want and make copies to take with you. An electronic health record can be accessed anywhere at any time but stricter security measures reduce the risk of intrusion while the instant availability of documentation promotes patient care.
