Soccer has been pushed down America's throats for the last 40 years.

Remember the New York Cosmos and the NASL in the 70s?

Remember when USA hosted the World Cup in '94?

Remember when MLS was founded in 1996?

Remember when the women won the World Cup in '99?

Americans see soccer for what it is. A so-called sport that is substituted for ancient tribal rivalries, political strife and rampant corruption. Soccer players fake injuries, dive all over the place, are subjected to punitive red cards that change the course of the game which are handed by corrupt referees on the take.

Basketball is popular the world over. Baseball is huge in Latin America, Japan and Korea. American Football is increasing in popularity in the UK and Germany. The Giants-Dolphins game got 500,000 ticket requests.

Americans have seen soccer and they laugh at the boring sport filled with 0-0 scores and players writhing in agony on the ground.
