I am a Republican delegate and am supporting Romney. I grew up seeing anti-Mormon films (like the God Makers) and hearing lectures; but, after living in Denver, I see Mormons much differently than I was taught in Florida. I don't trust McCain at all. I do trust Romney. Romney has flip-flopped a little -- but not as significantly as McCain -- and I think his flip-flops have been mischaracterized. He's always said he's opposed to abortion. He's only changed his claims about how he's said he'll handle laws controlling abortion as president of the U.S. versus how he said he would handle it as Governor or Senator of MA (and his actions were much more conservative than his words as Governor. He handled life issues very conservatively despite what he said while running. If actions matter more than words, he's not even a flip-flopper). I don't think Romney has dramtically changed unreasonably under in light of the vastly different circumstances between where he's going and where he's been. Same thing for his supposed flip-flop gay rights. In 1994, equality only meant you didn't support jailing gays for being homosexual. It didn't mean marriage, which Romney has always opposed. We have to be a little more forgiving of everything Romney had to say and had to go through to get elected in MA. I believe Christians should be standing with Romney rather than fighting him. Mormons and Christians are like the Marine Corps and the Navy in the U.S. armed forces. They can fight their feuds internally, but when it comes to war in Iraq and defending the country, they have to remember who the real enemies and where the real fight is. It's not with each other. In this case, it's the Christians that need to be reminded of that.
