Vindicating Douglas Feith

I don't even know where to begin with this editorial. You seem to be claiming that it was good that Douglas Feith and the OSP we're correct in their questioning of CIA intelligence with regards to Iraq and WMD's. There's nothing wrong with questioning intelligence gathered by the CIA, but when the CIA was correct in determining that the 3 main narratives linking Iraq to Al Qaeda and WMD's were totally bogus (no Yellowcake in Niger, Atta never in Prague, and Curveball being a total nutcase), and Feith and the OSP repeated this "information" as true to anyone who would listen... well that seems pretty scandalous to me. We were misled into this war, it was not a breakdown of intelligence at the CIA. If anything the biggest error at the CIA was Tenet eventually allowing himself to be overwhelmed by the political pressure to sign off on things he knew not to be true, if only because he probably thought we'd find WMD's anyway (slam-dunk anyone?) There were NO connection between Iraq and Al Qaeda, there were NO WMD's in Iraq, I think your paper is being intellectually dishonest in trying to sweep this one under the rug. This wasn't "Sh*t Happens," unfortunately the truth is much sadder.
