Mr. Hauser: First of all, do you watch boxing? If so you'll realize that this is one of the minor problems that hinders the Heavyweight division. Yes, Sam Peter does deserve his shot, but if the newswire is correct He will be getting 2.5 million to setp aside as well as a 50/50 split with the winner of the Klitscho/Maskaev bout. So he'll make at least 5.5 million. As short term of a career that boxing is, this makes tyhe most economic since, since he would be at a 60/40 split with maskeav if his proposed fight will take place. Secondly, most fans aren't that excited with Samuel Peter as you seem to allude to. Who did watch the boring Peter/Toney fighst anyways? Thirdly, Peter has had his shot at the title before and got beat by Wladamir Klitschko in a unanimous decision. Fouthly, more people would tune into a Maskaev/Klitschko then they would a Peter/ Maskaev bout. The problem with this division is that everyone with the exception of Wladamir Klitschko ducks the legitimate fighters. While Briggs, Valuev, and Maskaev continue to scheldule no names and refuse to attempt to unify the titles against Wladamir, he is stuck with fighting a scrub like Ray Austin, who does not deserve a shot. Keep in mind 3 out of the last 4 fighters that Klitschko has fought have been undefeated (Brock, Peter, Castillo). It is inevitable that Peter is going to get his shot, but since we are so deprived as boxing fans, wouldn't we rather watch Vitali Klitschko fight Maskaev followed by Klitschko fighting Peter. The bottom line is Valuev, Maskaev, and Briggs need to stop ducking eachother and fight Wladamir.
