I couldn't agree more with the thoughts of the editor on this one. The Governor should have looked to California for an example of how not to deal with elected members of the legislature. As Arnold found out quickly, name calling and bullying do not work well as tactics in dealing with folks who may well believe they can do you job better tha you. What's next for our Governor? Calling those who disagree with him "girly-men" as Schwarzenegger did? The Terminator found out that he was better off playing Kevin Spacey's role in The Negotiator.

Readers should also check out LeBrun's commentary in the Albany Times Union. This is not as simple as many would have it. It's not about so-called spineless lesgislators going along with Silver. Go one level deeper than cutesy headlines. It was about members of the Assembly who felt bullied and looked to their leader to stand up for them. If Silver had gone along with Spitzer, he'd have been in trouble with his members.
