There are numerous manufacturers of our loved and prized Kosher Hot Dogs. Hebrew National is a large one. There are also other brands such as Chicago, Mogen David, little known brands and even some small NY labels like Coney Island, and many more. All it takes is a Rabbi to say a prayer over it and it is "Kosher". It may be they are manufactured by the same plants under different labels. We shouldn't assume it was Hebrew National or anyone's brand until we know which ones may be dangerous. It may be that all of them were a health hazard but we weren't told that in the original story. The specifics provided by Abiebaby on January 25, 2007 didn't identify any brand name I had ever heard of, although the brand she refers to was in quotations. If you are a Kosher Hot Dog lover like me, if you have been enjoying Hebrew National franks, be thankful that "they answer to a higher authority" and perhaps that is why you have not become ill, or worse. Although in an honest attempt to be objective, the Chicago's seem to have less sodium therby giving it a better taste and less of a thirst problem an hour after eating one. Thanks for you comments.
