A glaring omission in your list of great NYC point guards: Bob Cousy, of Andrew Jackson HS in Queens.

And, while we're at it, LA may have had Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, but NYC had Lew Alcindor, of Power Memorial High, arguablely the greatest HS baskeball player ever.

Sure, the Lakers have been a successful franchise, but the idea that LA has a stronger hoops tradition than NY is laughable. NY teams have won 30+ baseball world championships, but NY remains a basketball town at heart. Virtually every year the NCAA All-America Team includes a NYC product.
